Ultrasound
Our center offers ultrasounds free of charge. Once you test positive for pregnancy, we can set up an appointment for you to confirm the pregnancy and to see your baby with an ultrasound. Because our medical services are limited, we offer ultrasounds only into your first trimester. After the ultrasound, your doctor will take over your prenatal care.
What is an ultrasound?
An ultrasound is a high frequency sound, higher than human’s ability to hear, that is sent into the body from an instrument placed on the client’s lower abdomen. The image seen on a screen is produced when these high frequency sounds bounce off the inside the body. An ultrasound allows us to see the baby’s development.
Why do I need an ultrasound?
Our center offers ultrasounds as a means of confirming a viable pregnancy.
Is ultrasound safe?
The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine has issued the following statement concerning the safety of ultrasound: “There are no known harmful effects associated with the medical use of sonography. …Although the possibility exists that biological effects may be identified in the future, current information indicates that the benefits to patients far outweigh the risks, if any.”
